Leeds photographers celebrated as part of ‘Instagram Art’ competition

After almost one thousand entries, we’re delighted to announce the ten winners of our #LeedsLightComp competition!

Launched in conjunction with Leeds Photography Group, the unique competition saw over 900 budding Instagram photographers from across the city getting snap happy and entering!

And to celebrate the winning entries, we now have a fabulous free exhibition, which is being displayed at The Light Leeds and is open to the public.

Focusing exclusively on the growing Instagram photography scene in the city, the competition provided amateur photographers with a platform to showcase their work to the public, while also celebrating Leeds’ creativity and diversity.

The winners will have their images displayed in the exhibition in The Light for a month, with their photography featured on the screen of a giant, mock up smartphone. The winners have also been recognized at a prestigious Champagne and canapé reception, and unveiling of the exhibition, which saw them come face to face with the competitions judges for the first time.

The overall competition winner was also awarded with a professional canvas print of their photograph, as well as the accolade of Leeds Amateur Photographer of the Year.
