Welcoming visitors back to The Light: what you can expect

Here at The Light, we are delighted to be welcoming visitors back into the centre. However, in order to keep both our visitors and our staff safe, we have introduced some new measures across the centre. Please make sure you familiarise yourself with the new regulations before visiting us. Here’s all you need to know…

The new measures in place at The Light

Social distancing

Ensure you maintain a distance of at least 1 metre from anyone outside of your bubble. We have installed signs to assist everybody in following social distancing measures.

Hand sanitizer stations at all entrances

We have installed hand sanitizer stations at all entrance points across the centre. Please ensure that you sanitize your hands on entering The Light.

Visitor information posters

Information posters have been placed throughout the centre. These provide information on measures we are asking our visitors to take, such as avoiding handshakes, covering your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze, and regular hand sanitizing.

Enhanced cleaning regime

We have enhanced our cleaning regime throughout the centre, with a particular focus on the cleanliness of all key touch points.

Public toilets remain closed

The centre’s public toilets are currently closed. These will be re-opened as soon as it is safe do so.

Staff hygiene

All of our staff will follow a strict personal hygiene regime regularly washing their hands (we encourage customers to do the same) and will use disposable gloves and respirators.

New measures in place amongst restaurants, bars and other operators at The Light

Our tenants have also made some important changes you need to be aware of before booking in. Here’s all you need to know:

Escape Hunt

Upon re-opening from 11th July, everyone’s favourite escape rooms will be available to play again with the Play Safe initiative put in place. This means contactless booking, hygiene screens placed in reception, digitalised check-in points on arrival and easily accessible hand sanitizers. As well as this they’ll be staggered arrival times to avoid crowds and comprehensive COVID-19 training for all employees.

Turtle Bay

Lack of a holiday this year doesn’t mean you have to miss out on some authentic Caribbean cuisine with Turtle Bay opening its doors as of 4th July. There are a number of new measures in place to ensure your safety with all staff wearing PPE, daily health checks, cashless payments a consolidated menu and socially distanced tables, with Perspex screens available on request when booking.

Miller and Carter

The city’s favourite steakhouse has re-opened and is serving up a reduced menu. The restaurant is encouraging customers to book in advance, as this is preferable to walk-ins. There will also be increased cleaning, social distancing, and encouraging contactless card payments, which has now been increased to £45.

Browns

Browns Brasserie & Bar has re-opened for food and drinks from 11am every day, with online booking are preferable. The restaurant has been deep cleaned, and increased cleaning regimes have been put in place. Browns is also encourage customers to download its app, to view the menu virtually, as well as encouraging contactless payments.

Haute Dolci

Leeds’ best luxury dessert parlour is back! Haute Dolci has implemented PPE for staff and sanitiser stations. The parlour is also limiting the number of customers at one time, keeping in line with the social distancing regulations.

Estabulo

Open from 4 pm -10 pm every day from 15th July, the Brazilian restaurant will have 15 cuts of prime meat on the menu as well as unlimited sides! An increased cleaning regime and cashless payment only system will be in place. Guests will also be asked to arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before their booking time due to limited waiting space.

Nando’s

Although the nation's number one peri-peri chicken eatery is not opening its door just yet, you can still get your fix with Nando’s in The Light offering FREE delivery or a click and collect service.

George’s Great British Kitchen

Also open for delivery only is George’s Great British kitchen, so you’ll be able to order your favourite classic British dishes without leaving home!
